Zone Labs announces new security solution

Following in the award-winning footsteps of ZoneAlarm and ZoneAlarm Pro, Integrity allows enterprises to manage and enforce endpoint security policy centrally, eliminating the security risks associated with an extended corporate workforce.
New access technologies, such as DSL and cable modems, are becoming an increasingly popular way to access the enterprise network for remote, mobile, and at-home workers. These emerging access technologies are more susceptible to Internet-borne security threats, making the endpoint the most vulnerable link in the enterprise security chain.
Any remote access user, whether connected to the corporate network by an 'always on' connection or by a standard dial-up connection, may be exposed to the growing hazards posed by malicious hackers wielding tools like Trojan horses, spyware, and other malevolent code. In addition, desktop users within the enterprise are at risk from these hazards as they are able to penetrate the gateway firewall via trusted applications like email.
As a result, information technology (IT) professionals need a new generation of centralized security and policy management tools that can provide ironclad endpoint security and policy enforcement as well as scalable, portable solutions.
This new generation of security and policy management tools needs to integrate smoothly with existing enterprise gateway and security solutions. In addition, these tools need to protect the endpoint transparently, while enhancing end user productivity.
"In the last year, we've seen dramatic examples of how effective security involves more issues than simply sealing technical vulnerabilities," Chris Shipley, Vice President and Executive Producer of the DEMO Conferences. "Every one of us needs to play a part in securing our PCs and the corporate assets they contain, whether intellectual property, customer information or financial data. Solutions like Zone Labs Integrity give enterprises a whole new set of tools to manage and enforce security policy so risks can be eliminated."
Integrity solves the new challenges of providing robust Internet security for the extended enterprise. With Integrity, IT staff who are responsible for security policy can develop more effective security policies that are easier to enforce and administer while providing best-of-breed endpoint security.
"The extended enterprise introduces a new generation of Internet-borne threats and vulnerabilities which translate to new challenges for IT staff," said Gregor Freund, president and founder of Zone Labs. "Real world security today requires balancing productivity and security risk management to meet those new challenges. Zone Labs Integrity integrates with existing enterprise network management and security solutions to 'harden' the organization's security while maximizing its return on investment."
Integrity Features and Benefits
Integrity utilizes a client/server architecture to offer centralized security management, including the ability to configure, deploy, install and manage the distributed security client. In addition, the Integrity server can configure, deploy and enforce security policy.
The Integrity server integrates with gateway products such as VPNs, perimeter firewalls, Web portal and router devices to enforce security policies so it can leverage existing services for authentication, reporting and network management.
The Integrity client includes integrated security services including application control, an integrated personal firewall, email attachment protection and option plug-in modules for anti-virus protection, privacy and encryption features from third-party companies.
Integrity offers more comprehensive security to the extended enterprise, providing peace of mind as well as a greater return on investment from the existing enterprise security frameworks. IT managers gain the assurance that real firewall protection extends all the way to the desktop, eliminating concerns about threats from Spyware and Trojan horses.
At the same time, Integrity offers effective, efficient centralized client software administration and management as well as security policy enforcement for greater IT and end user productivity.
Pricing and Availability
Integrity will be available in the second quarter of 2001. The Integrity server will run on Windows NT, 2000, Sun Solaris and Linux systems while the Integrity security client will run on Windows 9x, Millennium Edition and NT machines.
