Tech Data Opens Government Technology Services and Education Center

<%=company1%> (Clearwater, FL), the world's second largest distributor of microcomputer products, is opening a new Government Services Center in downtown Washington, D.C. Opening this week, Tech Data's government services location features five classrooms for vendor-authorized IT training and certification courses, facilities for product showcases from top government technology vendors, and offices for the company's regional government services staff. In addition to obtaining IT education, technology resellers can market training courses to end-user customers through Tech Data's facility.

The company's new education center offers complete course listings from Microsoft Corp. (Redmond, WA), 3Com Corp. (Santa Clara, CA), Cisco Systems (San Jose, CA), Hewlett-Packard (Palo Alto, CA), and Nortel Networks (Brampton, ON). Sylvan Prometric (Baltimore, MD) testing facilities also are located onsite, providing systems engineers with the opportunity to attend class and earn IT certifications in a single location. Additional vendor-authorized classes are planned for the center's curriculum over the next few months.

Tech Data distributes products from more than 1,000 manufacturers and supplies more than 75,000 different items, including printers, modems, and other peripherals; PCs; networking equipment; and software.
