SunGard to Provide Disaster Recovery to Phoenix Client Banks

Orlando, FL-based Phoenix International Ltd., a developer of client/server core banking application software, has allied with SunGard Recovery Services Inc. (Wayne, PA) to provide disaster recovery services to Phoenix US clients. SunGard Recovery Services, the SunGard's disaster recovery unit, offers a range of business recovery services throughout North America. The company currently services more than 4,500 subscribers and has successfully supported more than 120 recovery efforts for all types of man-made and natural disasters.

Phoenix International partnered with SunGard based on its ability to support multiple hardware platforms and operating environments, as well the combination of a strong subscriber base and a proven reputation with the financial industry. Specifically, SunGard will provide Phoenix clients with support services that include hot sites, cold sites, disaster recovery planning and consulting, electronic vaulting, network recovery, and mobile data centers.

Under the strategic alliance, Phoenix will work with SunGard during client testing procedures, providing installation and interfacing expertise to ensure successful test protocol. This working relationship also will be in place for clients in the event of an actual disaster.
