Single Board Computer

The Aviant Dual BX Single Board Computer (SBC) features dual Intel Pentium III processor support, which provides the required processing muscle and expandability for a variety of sophisticated Internet, telephony and telecommunications applications, as well as for typical rugged system implementations. The new utilizes reliable components and supports higher-end operating systems like Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000, as well as Windows 95/98/ME, Solaris, SCO and Linux.

The computer provides processing power of up to 850MHz with 100MHz system bus support to provide stable and dependable performance. It uses the Intel 440BX AGP chipset and four DIMM sockets supporting up to one GB SDRAM memory. It has a DiskOnChip socket that supports Flash Disk up to 144 MB and a C&T 69000 VGA display that supports up to 1280 x 1024, 256-color mode and 60Hz refresh rate with 2MB integrated memory.

The computer uses reliable components such as the on-board Intel 82259 Fast Ethernet controller, and offers Wake-On-LAN and Modem Ring-On capabilities, along with system monitoring functionality. Integrating these key features on-board eliminates the need for extra add-on cards and frees up valuable slot space.

The computer's serial ports have two standard high-speed 16C550 compatible UARTs with 16-byte T/R FIFOs. There is one SPP, EPP/ECP bi-directional parallel port. It also has two USB ports for high-speed I/O peripheral devices. The IR interface is a six-pin header for serial Fast/Standard Infrared wireless communication. The floppy drive controller is one FDD port that supports up to two floppy disk drives, 360K to 2.88MB capacity. The rear bracket supports one mini-DIN, two-port USB, Ethernet and VGA ports. The SBC's dimensions are 13.36 x 4.78 inches. Power requirements are +5V@10A (typical), +12V@80mA, and -12V@ 30mA.
