SHUNRA unleashes new model of STORM WAN emulator

Paramus, N.J. -- Shunra Software Ltd. is taking orders for the new STORM model, designed for smaller enterprises that require advanced Wide Area Network (WAN) emulation.

The new model STORM ST2-002 contains the same software and features as the enterprise level STORM, but with two 10 Mbps ports instead of the four 10/100 Mbps or eight 10/100 Mbps ports as the original models. SHUNRA created WAN emulation software for companies to test and analyze their IP-based applications early in the development cycle and to troubleshoot specific WAN-related issues.

Following the success of The Cloud, a software only product, and based on customers requests, SHUNRA developed STORM, a hardware product capable of simultaneously emulating multiple networks. STORM's success since its introduction in the Spring of 2000 led many start-ups and small-to-midsize businesses (SMEs) to approach SHUNRA to create an entry-level version that is fully functional, yet scaled to their needs.

"In the past two years our products have helped many organizations in developing and deploying better Internet-based applications," said Benny Daon, founder and CEO of SHUNRA. "With this new model we extend our reach into smaller innovative companies, giving them the opportunity to compete with large corporations in creating better programs and ensuring the performance of their application prior to deployment."

The STORM ST2-002 is controlled using the same award-winning Microsoft Visio based user interface supporting only two emulated networks. The two Ethernet ports have a WAN emulation gateway potential of up to 10 Mbps.

SHUNRA is receiving orders for the new model as of today. The new model is priced at $18,000 with a 15 months software subscription and extended warranty. An upgrade package for current users of The Cloud is also available.
