Shomiti Integrates Net-Hopper's Network Test Access System

Source: Shomiti Systems
Through a partnership announced this week, network analysis equipment vendor Shomiti Systems (San Jose, CA) will integrate Net-HOPPER's NTAS technology for fiber-optic networks with Shomiti's 10/100 Mbps and Gigabit Ethernet analysis system. The integration of Shomiti and Norcross, GA-based Net-HOPPER's technologies will provide passive, fault tolerant, and non-intrusive monitoring and analysis of multiple full duplex Gigabit backbone links at full-line rate.

Net-HOPPER's NTAS solution allows users to leverage Shomiti analyzers across multiple Gigabit links, maximizing their test equipment investment. Shomiti's analysis system consists of its 10/100 Mbps or Gigabit Ethernet Explorer hardware module and the most recent version of Shomiti's seven-layer analysis software, Surveyor version 3.1, due out next month. By connecting the Explorer to Net-HOPPER's CRYSTAL-hopper fiber-optic switch, users will have test access to any full duplex link or analyzer port on any switch in the network. When combined with PATHmaster, Net-HOPPER's point-and-click control software, engineers can create paths between the Shomiti Explorer and any connected tap or mirror port. Once connected, the user can immediately use Shomiti's Surveyor 3.1 for remote data capture.
