The Pulsar Esprit SLR is a small server-grade UPS that delivers a high level of network system protection. It is ideal for 19-inch network rack environments where space is a premium. Featuring robust communications and unlimited extended batteries, the device provides 24X7 power availability and reliability required by the most demanding of enterprise mission-critical applications.

The UPS further enhances total power availability with infinitely expandable battery options and suite of "Internet-grade" monitoring and communications featuring Windows 2000 integration and XML Web-based management. The device blends seamlessly with rack hardware and can also rest in a vertical position to further maximize rack space.

Available in 3kVA and 4kVA models, the low-profile, 3U high (5.25 inch) units protect up to 8 critical servers associated with key peripherals such as storage and backup devices. Users can configure the SLR to provide virtually unlimited backup time with options for redundant batteries with chargers to assure maximum reliability as well as rapid recharging.

All models feature a robust suite of communications capabilities using the first USB interface available on a server-grade UPS. A standard RS232 port is also included. UPS-to-server communications assure graceful shutdown when extended power outages deplete batteries and inform network administrators of other power-related events that may affect unattended servers.

Users have the ability to remotely control and monitor the UPS via the Web. When the SLR is connected to any Windows NT/2000 server loaded with XML @gent software, the XML protocol allows users to assign automatic actions based on any power-related event via their Web browsers.

The new units also include the Solution-Pac power management software for Windows 95/98/2000, NT, Novell NetWare, SCO Unix v.3.0, SCO Openserver 5.0, and Linux. With an intuitive graphical interface, the software assures automatic orderly shutdown of unattended servers during extended outages, automatic reboot, remote monitoring and more. With an optional Ethernet/SNMP card that fits into optional MultiSlot Communication Expander, users have easy access to UPS status and power events.
