Securit-e-Doc unveils next step in data protection software

WJCI announces general availability of wireless Internet transceivers for Cisco broadband fixed wireless solution
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Your secrets just got much safer. Securit-e-Doc, Inc., developing the next step in data protection, announced today the release of Securit-e-Doc version 2.7, the company's flagship secure file transport and storage software solution.

The first server based solution of its kind, Securit-e-Doc locks information within multiple layers of the strongest commercially available encryption to provide end-to-end information security, protecting files during transport and while stored on a server. This easy to use software allows authorized users to securely transmit, retrieve and store their valuable information, regardless of file type or size, using any computer with an Internet connection and a web browser.

It employs patent pending Secure Information Transport Technology (SITT) to prevent the kind of widely publicized attacks inherent in transmitting files through corporate email systems. Installed on a company server, additional security comes from the company maintaining 100% ownership and control of its own proprietary information 100% of the time.

The principle underlying Securit-e-Doc is that security is a process, not a single product. Company information is encased in concentric circles of security using hardware and software solutions. A recently completed technology validation conducted by PriceWaterhouseCoopers indicates, "the Securit-e-Doc solution surrounding document security is effective and sound."

"This technology has far reaching implications for businesses including reducing costs associated with document delivery, mitigating loss or theft of important data, remote system administration and increasing overall network security," according to Securit-e-Doc, Inc. CEO Rob Barron.

A recent study by the Computer Security Institute and the FBI showed that 90% of the companies questioned detected Internet breaches in the last 12 months and 42% quantified losses totaling over a quarter of a billion dollars.

"As computer crime continues to grow, it is increasingly important that companies take steps to protect the security of their data, both in transit and in storage," according to computer security expert Scott Charney, Principal, PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. "Thus, companies concerned with data security will need to carefully consider deploying such products."

Securit-e-Doc will enable companies conducting business over the Internet to avoid liability and lost revenue by protecting confidential company and customer information from theft or destruction. "Securit-e-Doc's proven strength, scalability and robust functionality offers a reasonably priced data protection solution for enterprises of any size," concludes Mr. Barron.
