RAID Controllers

The K5412 and K7413 external RAID controllers in the K-Series provide RAID capability in a small pre-configured canister. Each unit fits in a standard 5.25-in. half-height bay for ease of integration. These plug-and-play units provide high performance, fault tolerance and data availability for storage-intensive applications such as film and video editing, CAD, digital pre-press and 3-D imaging.

The company's Ultra2-to-Ultra2 SCSI model is called the K5412. Combining low voltage differential (LVD) technology for extended cable length capabilities (up to 12 meters), as well as enhanced device support, the K5412 meets the demands of this high speed SCSI interconnect supported by all servers and storage devices.

The K7413 is a canister size Fibre Channel-to-Ultra2 SCSI RAID controller. The canister enclosure enables simple integration into a storage subsystem, there is no need for a special backplane design. Integrators may install the unit into a standard 5.25-in. half-height bay. This feature allows system designers more flexibility by providing the powerful benefits of Fibre Channel without the lead times and up-front development costs of a customized solution.
