Polycom and Hitachi Cable Ink Sales Agreement

Polycom Inc.ommunication systems vendor <%=company%> (Milpitas, CA) and Hitachi Cable Ltd. of Japan, a manufacturer of electric wires and cables, have signed a sales agent agreement for local sales, marketing, and distribution of Polycom's voice conferencing, video communications, and webconferencing products in Japan through Hitachi Cable. In turn, Hitachi Cable has made an investment in Polycom sales and marketing, creating a business unit with dedicated sales support personnel, in addition to building an extensive support organization throughout Japan.
Polycom's Polycom Inc.ommunication product line was initiated two years ago with its ViewStation line of video communication products. Since then, Polycom has released streaming servers, system management and directory service products, TV-quality video conferencing, multipoint conferencing units (MCUs), and added its NetEngine digital subscriber line (DSL) network access devices to its product line. All of Polycom's Polycom Inc.ommunications products are H.323 compliant—meeting International Telecommunications Union (ITU) standards for real-time communications and conferencing for packet-based networks.
