Nortel Outsources Enterprise Training to Global Knowledge

Nortel Networksequipment maker <%=company%> (Brampton, ON) will divest its North American Enterprise Solutions Training business to technology education company Global Knowledge Network Inc. (Burlington, MA). The five-year contract with Nortel Networks calls for Global Knowledge to supply instructor-led training, and independent study courses geared to Nortel customers and business partners, replacing Nortel's current in-house training staff.

Nortel Networks' staff and management team in the U.S. and Canada that join Global Knowledge will remain focused on the development and delivery of Nortel Networks training. The training operations will be integrated into Global Knowledge's worldwide organization as the foundation for a separate Global Knowledge division focused on educational outsourcing.

With the addition of former Nortel Networks' employees that have accepted positions with Global Knowledge, Global's employee count has risen to more than 1700. The company's offerings include manufacturer certifications for Cisco Systems (San Jose, CA), Entrust Technologies Inc. (Plano, TX), Nortel, Compaq Computer Corp. (Houston), Microsoft Corp. (Redmond, WA), Red Hat (Durham, NC), and Oracle Corp. (Redwood City, CA).
