Network-1 Security Solutions to Enhance Security of Windows NT

Waltham, MA-based Network-1 Security Solutions Inc. has entered into a co-marketing deal with Microsoft Corp. (Redmond, WA) to promote Network-1's intrusion detection and prevention network access control product and "ethical hacking" security services. Network-1 Security Solutions develops network security software products and offers network security and network design consulting services.

The strategic relationship includes the following offerings from Network-1 Security Solutions:

• CyberwallPLUS-SV—kernel mode security software that provides multi-level security for Windows NT server-based application and infrastructure services. CyberwallPLUS-SV includes stateful packet inspection and detailed network access controls for address mapping, time-based rules, and filtering capabilities.
• Tactical Remote Access Penetration Study (Traps)—Traps is a fixed price external network penetration service. It gauges the effectiveness of a corporation's existing security systems and policies through the use of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) consultants who attempt to breach clients' data systems using a combination of commercial and custom security penetration tools. The Traps price is $5,995 for a predefined set of tests.
• Server Network Access and Penetration Study (Snaps)—Snaps is a fixed-price Windows NT-based network penetration and vulnerability testing service that uses CISSP consultants to analyze infrastructure, application, and data servers in an attempt to uncover any security "holes" or issues. The Snaps price is $2,495 for a predefined set of tests for five Windows NT-based servers.
