NetScout Systems, Wavetek Wandel Goltermann Sign Distribution Deal

Westford, MA-based NetScout Systems Inc., a developer end-to-end application flow management products for enterprise networks, will partner with communications test and analysis system vendor Wavetek Wandel Goltermann in a multi-year strategic OEM and reseller agreement.

NetScout will resell Wavetek's Examine and Mentor products on an OEM basis. Examine is a decode engine that decodes over 350 protocols. Mentor pinpoints, prioritizes, and proposes corrections for critical problems on Token Ring, Ethernet, frame relay, Novell, and TCP/IP networks. When used in conjunction with NetScout monitoring products, these tools enable customers to capture, decode, and analyze data packets for end-to-end network performance monitoring and management.

For Wavetek, headquartered in Research Triangle Park, NC in the US and in Eningen, Germany, the relationship extends the OEM distribution of NetScout network performance probes under Wavetek's Domain probe name. The deal extends the alliance that began three years ago with the goal of strengthening NetScout international sales. Wavetek, with more than 80 sales offices worldwide, sells products into both enterprise and carrier networks.
