The ipMux is a multiport Ethernet IP multiplexer for LAN administrators ISPs, telcos, and cable carriers
N/As a multiport Ethernet IP multiplexer for LAN administrators ISPs, telcos, and cable carriers who wish to offer services where multiple, secure IP connections are required. ipMux includes one 10Base-T Ethernet Uplink port and four 10Base-T Ethernet Downlink ports. The Uplink port connects to a corporate LAN or to the wiring equipment on the premises of ISPs, telcos or cable carriers. The Downlink ports connect directly to personal computers via standard Ethernet NICs or to other switching equipment to extend LAN or Internet access to more than a single user per port.
The ipMux gives LAN administrators the ability to allocate bandwidth via the SNMP-management facility.
The aggregate bandwidth of the Downlink ports cannot be greater than the maximum bandwidth of the Uplink port, which is 10 Mbps. Even at maximum load, performance will exceed that of T1 (1.544 Mbps) speeds.
