Low Power Network Appliance Platform For SOHO Applications

Taipei, Taiwan, - AXIOMTEK introduces its new generation low power network security platform, the NA-811, which is a 1U desktop form factor with four Gigabit LAN ports (PCIe transaction bus), designed for small and home office (SOHO) applications. It supports an Intel Pentium M processor with FSB 400/533MHz or a ULV Intel Celeron M 1GHz/0K (L2 cache) processor. To prevent network problems when the platform shuts down, the NA-811 supports one group of LAN bypass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions. The new model is an ideal network security hardware platform for IDS/IPS, VPN, content filtering, UTM, network security applications and other embedded box solutions.
The NA-811 adopts a Mobile Intel 910GMLE+ICH6-M Express chipset to deliver reliable performance, low power consumption, and high scalability. For easily porting LAN bypass feature with custom application program, we provide development kit with micro code for migration. With an Intel 82573 LAN chip, the NA-811 supports fail-over, load sharing and load balancing functions for critical network environments. Additionally, the platform supports two high bandwidth DDR2 SODIMM slots with memory up to 2GB. In order to provide the best network performance and best utilization, the powerful storage interfaces include one 2.5" SATA HDD and CompactFlash(TM). One Mini PCI slot with 32-bit/33MHz is available for expansion if customers want to install wireless module or VPN card.
"AXIOMTEK's new network appliance, the NA-811, is a low power and flexible network application platform designed for SOHO network security appliance markets" said Philip Wei, Product Manager of Applied Computing Platforms Division at AXIOMTEK. "The NA-811 fulfills high computing performance with low power requirement for SOHO markets. It is an ideal solution for system integrators, software developers, and manufacturers seeking to reduce time to market."
The NA-811 features four Gigabit Ethernet ports in the rear panel thru high bandwidth PCIe interface. The BIOS in this network security appliance supports console redirection function. For easy access, the front panel also has one RS-232 DB-9 console port, two USB 2.0 ports, and LED indicators that monitor power, HDD activities and TX/RCV state to LAN. Moreover, the NA-811 supports mainstream Linux kernel 2.6 and 2.4 operating systems.
The RoHS compliant product will be available around the early of May, 2008. For more product information, please visit www.axiomtek.com.
