Source: Polycom Inc.
Polycom Inc. an OEM relationship that began a year ago with the first voice over digital subscriber line (VoDSL) trial deployments, <%=company%>. (San Jose, CA) will provide Jetstream Communications Inc. (Los Gatos, CA) with integrated access devices (IADs) that interoperate with Jetstream's CPX-1000 broadband voice services platform. The strategic agreement is expected to advance the deployment of VoDSL services for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

VoDSL is seen by many as the "killer application" that will accelerate the worldwide rollout of DSL services. This broadband access technology allows carriers to deliver multi-line local telephone voice service and high-speed data over packet-based DSL access networks. Jetstream's CPX-1000 broadband voice services platform, in combination with Polycom's IADs created an inoperable, integrated system to deliver voice service and continuous high speed Internet access to small and medium enterprises over the existing telephone copper infrastructure.

In addition, Polycom's new Network Access division (formerly Atlas Communications Engines) announced the immediate availability of the new Polycom NetEngine 4000 series of IADs which provide eight POTS interface, an Ethernet data interface, and WAN connectivity via field-upgradeable SDSL, ADSL, T1/E1, and ATM-25 modules.
