iTRACS selects Singapore for its global research center
Former CSA Automated Pte Ltd, one of Singapore's leading systems integrators, senior executive Solomon David has been named to lead the new operation.
iTRACS Corporation will be investing over $6M into Singapore and the new 3,000 sq ft research and development facility in Loyang, located near Singapore's Changi International Airport. The company is also placing and managing turnkey contracts with Singapore manufacturers for the global production of its iTRACS solution.
The appointment of David as VP of hardware research and development at iTRACS Corporation is the culmination of two years extensive work on the iTRACS solution, a dynamic new technology that provides real-time links between Network Management Software and Physical Management Software enabling end-to-end remote management of the network.
While at CSA Automated Pte Ltd, David's pioneering research led him to being named as the inventor of the technology, which was filed at Singapore's Patent Office and then subsequently worldwide. In March 2000, iTRACS Corporation purchased the full Intellectual Property Rights to the iTRACS solution and took over the engineering research team from CSA.
"Having been a driving force behind the creation of iTRACS since its inception, I am extremely confident that it will revolutionize the way corporate networks are managed - that's what we designed it for," said Solomon David, VP of hardware research and development at iTRACS Corporation. "iTRACS was once a dream but now it is a reality. I am proud to be named as the inventor of the hardware and the opportunity to join iTRACS to continue product development is a natural step for me to take."
"Solomon is an entrepreneur - he worked day and night designing and refining the hardware solution and without him, iTRACS as we know it would not have been possible," said Pete Pela, chairman and CTO at iTRACS Corporation. "We chose to build this center of excellence in Singapore because we had a ready-made team that can be instantly built onto with highly qualified people and it has an excellent reputation as a global business hub. And of course, there is no better person than Solomon to be heading up our hardware R&D efforts."
iTRACS Corporation also announces that CSA Automated Pte Ltd has been appointed as an iTRACS distributor in Asia. CSA launched iTRACS in Singapore earlier this January. The company is currently recruiting resellers and systems integrators that wish to become iTRACS partners. Regional launches began on February 1, 2001, in Bangkok with Malaysia and Hong Kong also planned in Q1-2001. China will follow in Q2-2001.
"CSA's appointment is excellent news not just for CSA, but for Singapore as whole," said Seah Kiok Leng, Executive Director at CSA Automated Pte Ltd. "We have worked with iTRACS Corporation for several years and know that this is a well designed product that will sell. As iTRACS' Asian hub, we expect this deal to be very beneficial to Singapore. In addition, we intend to recruit more sales and technical staff as our iTRACS' business grows."
