Gadzoox Networks, Compaq Team to Deliver Storage Area Networks

Compaq Computer Corp. has selected the Gadzoox Gibraltar managed Fibre Channel hub technology as a component of its ENSA (Enterprise Network Storage Architecture). The goal of Compaq's ENSA is to reduce the cost and complexity of managing storage by simplifying storage administration and centralizing data management. This will be accomplished through the virtualization of storage into "pools" that can be shared by distributed, heterogeneous application servers.

Compaq's announcement marks a continuation of an ongoing strategic relationship with Gadzoox Networks, Inc., a provider of SAN (storage area network) products. The Gadzoox Gibraltar hub is also an integral part of Compaq's Enterprise Backup Solution, announced November 1998. This integrated SAN product delivers scalable backup for the Windows NT and Novell NetWare environments.
