Fujitsu-Siemens, ADIC Agree to Tape Library OEM Agreement

Redmond, WA-based Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC) and Fujitsu-Siemens Computers (FSC)—a European joint venture between Tokyo-based Fujitsu Ltd. and Siemens AG (Munich, Germany)—have reached an agreement in principle to expand an existing OEM relationship. The partnership will soon include a range of storage management products for mainframe and open computer systems.

Specifically FSC has selected ADIC to supply automated storage products based on ADIC tape library platforms incorporating linear tape-open (LTO) and digital linear tape (DLT) tape technology. The companies also have agreed to establish a joint development and distribution plan for FSC's new CentricStor Virtual Tape Library product.
