Rorke Data, Inc.-FC/FC-FT Fibre Channel RAID storage subsystem was designed for digital media applications. The system is a fault tolerant 19-inch rack mountable, desktop or tower Fibre Channel storage subsystem. Supporting up to twelve FCAL disk drives per enclosure, the system offers a storage capacity of 600 GB per enclosure, expandable up to 25 TBs. Rorke Data, Inc.-FC/FC-FT includes Hammer's JackHammer host bus adapter and a Fibre Channel to Fibre Channel RAID controller.

The system's fully integrated, hardware-based RAID controller with optical or copper FC interface is designed for digital media applications. When configured with Active-Active controllers, the RAID engines deliver up to 190 MBps sustained throughput and are hot pluggable and hot swappable, providing maximum data availability. Additional hot pluggable components include the disk drives, power supplies, fans, and loop resiliency circuits. Rorke Data, Inc.-FC/FC-FT supports RAID levels 0, 0+1, 1, 3, 5, 10, 30 and 50 with on-line capacity expansion and an easy-to-use configuration utility.

Other RAID fault tolerant and flexibility features of the system include: transparent disk drive rebuild; Dynamic Expansion; up to 32MB I/O request sizes; automatic error recovery, detection of failed drives, and rebuild of hot-spare drive; hot-drive swapping support; write-through, write-back or read-ahead cache support per logical device; and four Fibre Channels at 100 MB/sec per channel.
