Fibre Channel Host Adapter Family

Emulex Corporation 66MHz LightPulse PCI host bus adapters, the 2 Gbps LP9002, and the 1 Gbps LP9000 and LP950 all feature the 2 Gbps capable Centaur ASIC, the company's latest Fibre Channel controller ASIC, and are fully compatible with drivers and software used with previous generations of products. This product provides automatic speed sensing and automatic speed matching, to provide 2 Gbps performance while maintaining backwards compatibility with 1 Gbps Fibre Channel installations.

The LP9002 and LP9000 provide connectivity for high-end, mission critical systems, while the LP950 provides Fibre Channel connectivity for entry-level Windows NT/2000 and Novell systems. The 1 Gbps LP9000 and 2 Gbps LP9002 are designed to support mission-critical enterprise applications. The LP9002 provides 2 Gbps Fibre Channel connectivity that provides speed matching capability for compatibility with existing 1 Gbps Fibre Channel SANs, while the LP9000 supports a 1 Gbps data rate. These 64-bit, 66 MHz PCI host adapters include switched fabric support using F_Port and FL_Port connections, full-duplex data transfers, high data integrity features, support for all Fibre Channel topologies and support for service classes 2 and 3. The adapters are available with physical interface options that include copper, short wave optics, and long-wave optics GBICs, as well as embedded copper and embedded optics interfaces.
