Fibre Channel Enclosures

Two- and four-drive Fibre Channel desktop enclosures for data storage have hot-swap drive canisters that are interchangeable with the company's entire line of Fibre Channel enclosures. Both models are available in either single loop or dual loop configurations.

The two drive enclosure, the FT2J-500X, supports two fibre channel drives and includes a 70-Watt power supply and one fan. The four drive enclosure, the FT4J-500X, supports four fibre channel drives and includes a 140-Watt power supply and two fans.

The desktop enclosures were designed to increase the speed of integration with both 1.65 in. and 1 in. fibre channel drives. The enclosures' backplane design allows for automatic configuration on a fibre channel arbitrated loop. Daisy-chaining capability is built-in along with a DB9 host interface that supports all current MIA (Media Interface Adapters) and alarm indicators.

Both enclosures were also designed to enhance user serviceability of the cooling and power supplies. The power supplies can be easily replaced in the field by removing the front bezel of the enclosure. The built-in temperature, power supply and fan monitoring system includes a status indicator on the front of the unit and a audible alarm to indicate a failure.
