MUNICH, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the provider of TOTALLY Open™ data protection solutions, today announced an agreement with distributor Starline Computer GmbH. Under the terms of the agreement, Starline will immediately begin the import and distribution of a new line of high performance iSCSI storage systems, leveraging FalconStor software solutions for business continuity and immediate recovery.
With the addition of FalconStor's enterprise-grade data protection software to its portfolio, Starline aims to target the growing market for high performance and high availability storage solutions. The arrangement will enable Kirchheim/Teck-based Starline – which specializes in storage and RAID hardware – to provide total solutions including FalconStor®Network Storage Server (NSS) and FalconStor Virtual Tape Library (VTL) with data duplication. Starline currently offers FalconStor NSS and FalconStor VTL with data deduplication on Intel quad-core-processor-based servers, and easyRAID Q12PS-F4R2/Q16PS-F4R3 Fibre Channel disk arrays.
"The FalconStor NSS solution is to be designed without a single point of failure – offering the advantage of centralized administration for all SAN resources as well as client connection with almost native performance," said Steffen Horlacher, virtualization specialist at Starline. "The open architecture guarantees perfect integration into heterogeneous environments."
Starline will showcase its FalconStor solutions in the Starline booth (Hall A2, Booth 325) at the SYSTEMS trade fair in Munich (21.10 to 24.10.) and will simultaneously showcase the potential and advantages of a combined FalconStor NSS solution with the help of a live demo.
During the trade fair, potential customers will have the opportunity to find out further information and familiarize themselves with the operating method. At the close of the trade fair, Starline will run a free workshop aimed at providing resellers with detailed knowledge of FalconStor NSS and VTL solutions. This workshop will be held in Kirchheim/Teck, offering instruction from both FalconStor and Starline experts. Information on this workshop will be available in the Starline booth at SYSTEMS.
FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS)
FalconStor® NSS provides high-performance SAN primary storage combined with enterprise-class storage virtualization, provisioning, and management. Thin provisioning and capacity-on-demand capabilities help automate storage resource allocation and capacity management while virtualization provides centralized management for heterogeneous storage environments. FalconStor NSS includes the FalconStor TimeMark® snapshot capability for transactionally consistent, instant recovery to known points in time—helping IT meet recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO). Data stored on FalconStor NSS appliances may be replicated to another NSS appliance via IP for real-time disaster recovery (DR) protection. Delta-based FalconStor Replication uses FalconStor MicroScan™ technology, which reduces the amount of data being transferred by sending only the changed sectors within a block. Replication includes encryption for security and compression for reduced bandwidth requirements. FalconStor NSS appliances are available with internal and external storage.
