Ethernet Multiplexer
An Ethernet multiplexer delivers multiple T1 and LAN traffic over a fiber optic link, to distances of up to 36 miles (60 km). The Optimux-XLT1 helps ILECs, CLECs and other service providers to maximize investment in fiber-based local loops. The multiplexer is also suitable for consolidating PBX and LAN traffic over fiber in campus and corporate applications. The Fiber link in the multiplexer supports multimode fiber, single mode fiber (diode or laser) and single mode over single fiber (WDM).
The compact multiplexer supports a single, fixed 10BaseT Ethernet bridge port and three additional plug-in channel modules. Options range from four Ethernet ports to a single Ethernet port and 12 T1 channels. Ethernet traffic is transmitted by a built-in bridging function, which operates at 6 Mbps and supports up to 10,000 MAC addresses. The optional redundant power supply and second link for automatic backup ensure reliability.
The multiplexer is managed using ASCII terminal or SNMP management station. The SNMP management supports Java-based Web management, RADview - PC (Windows) or RADview - HP (HPOV UNIX).
