ESS Technology Buys Netridium Communications

ESS Technology Inc.its existing communications technologies of digital subscriber line, V.90 modems, Ethernet networking, and HPNA 1.0 home networking, <%=company%> (Fremont, CA) has acquired privately-held NetRidium Communications Inc. (Tustin, CA).

NetRidium's technology implements the Home Phone Networking Alliance Revision 2.0 (HPNA 2.0) specification for delivering voice, data, and video information throughout the home over ordinary phone lines at communications rates of up to 16 Mbps. ESS will combine and integrate the acquired technologies into network products targeted both the residential and the small office market.

In the transaction, ESS Technology acquired all capital stock of NetRidium Communications in a cash and stock transaction, and completed employment and incentive agreements for all NetRidium employees. NetRidium was one of the earliest participants in the HPNA 2.0 specification development, and is actively contributing to the ITU G.pnt phone networking standards development.
