D-Link PConTV streams Internet content directly from the PC without the use of a proprietary player. D-Link MediaLounge Media Player (DSM-520) -- The D-Link MediaLounge DSM-520 with ActiveTV, designed for Windows XP users, offers similar PC media streaming capabilities as the DSM-750, but also offers access to thousands of Internet videos from websites in 14 countries. The device can also access videos, music and photos stored on PCs across a home network, a shared network storage device, as well as files stored on a USB flash drive, or external hard drive via a USB 2.0 port.
D-Link DivX Connected HD Media Player (DSM-330) -- D-Link DSM-330 DivX Connected™ HD Media Player lets you play your DivX® videos from the PC and the Internet, including DivX HD videos with menus and subtitles, access Stage6™ and other online video services with your remote control and add a personal touch with DivX Connected™ plug-ins, all without leaving your couch. The device can also access videos, music and photos stored on PCs across a home network, a shared network storage device, as well as files stored on a USB flash drive, or external hard drive via a USB 2.0 port.
D-Link Internet Photo Frame
The D-Link Internet Photo Frame (DSM-210) -- The perfect gift, this digital photo frame is designed to enhance the home entertainment experience by allowing users to view their favorite photos easily and conveniently virtually anywhere in the home -- providing a high-resolution 10" LCD display connected over a Wi-Fi home network. With a built-in wireless adapter, the DSM-210 makes it simple for the user to drag and drop images into a "widget" on the computer desktop and watch the photos automatically appear in the photo frame as a slide show. The widget will also allow a user to remotely manage a frame over the Internet using the same drag and drop method. The frame will also display weather, RSS feeds, and images from a USB drive or flash card, and supports popular calendar programs.
D-Link Home Networking
Xtreme N Gaming Router (DGL-4500) -- One of those few network devices built especially for gamers by gamers, this router harnesses the power of D-Link's Xtreme N Duo™ wireless technology for blazing fast Wi-Fi data transfers and Gigabit LAN and WAN Ports for even faster wired gaming performance. The device includes an updated version of D-Link's award-winning GameFuel™ technology to guarantee smoother, lag-free gaming along with a high-performance CPU, Network Activity Display, and a large selection of customizable options for optimizing a gaming network.
Xtreme N Duo Dual Band Wireless Router (DIR-855) -- This high-powered D-Link router is engineered to enhance speed and range when running multiple devices including HD media players, game consoles and computers. The next-generation Dual Band 802.11n Draft N Router allows home users to simultaneously browse the Internet or send emails using the 2.4GHz band while streaming movies, music or playing games using the less crowded 5GHz band, thus ensuring that applications run as smoothly as possible over the wireless network and offering an outstanding Internet experience. The DIR-855 is based on Atheros XSPAN 802.11n technology; Atheros' dual-concurrent solutions are contained in the Wi-Fi Alliance 802.11n test bed, and are the most widely deployed dual-concurrent technologies worldwide.
First-Ever Customized Router Skins -- D-Link has teamed with Skinit to offer the industry's first personalized electronic device skins for its most popular routers, offering customers the option to customize their routers with some 3000 designs, including favorite photos, fashion designs, sports teams, colleges, tattoo art, initials, symbols, corporate logos, etc. Skinit's skins are personalized, high-quality vinyl covers specially designed to fit a broad variety of consumer electronic devices. Initially, the skins will be available for D-Link's DIR-855, DIR-655, DIR-625, DIR-615, DGL-4500, DGL-4300, DGL-4100 and DI-624 routers.
D-Link Switches that Conserve Resources and Expenses -- D-Link Green Ethernet™ technology implements special power-saving features that detect link status and cable length and adjust power usage accordingly. If there is no cable link or link partners turn off, Green Ethernet technology will put that port in a "sleep mode," reducing power used for that port and saving energy. Green Ethernet technology detects Ethernet cable length and adjusts power usage to save power. This way, a port connected to a 20m cable only uses as much power as it needs, instead of using full power, which is only needed for 100m cables. The Green Ethernet line includes 5- and 8-port switches (DGS-2205 and 2208), with 16- and 24-port models expected to ship in the first quarter of 2008.
D-Link File Storage and Sharing
D-Link NAS devices and routers BitTorrent Certified -- BitTorrent Inc., a leader in delivering high-quality content on the Internet, has certified key D-Link NAS storage devices and routers to ensure consumers can access, store and share their large amounts of media content using their digital home network and an easy-to-use Web interface. Currently, the latest BitTorrent SDK firmware is embedded in the D-Link DNS-323 NAS storage unit and certification has been granted for the award-winning D-Link DIR-655 draft 802.11n routers.
Network Video Recorder Technology Debuts -- D-Link's latest NAS storage solution is designed specifically to meet the high demand for security surveillance by consumers and small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The new device, which acts like a digital video recorder used in closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, provides standalone recording management for up to four IP cameras per installation. In addition to its storage capabilities, it features a recording schedule, live streaming server, remote playback server, easy configuration, a Web-based user interface, remote live viewing, remote playback, video and audio streaming and an event trigger. And, it is energy efficient.
