Ceragon Networks Deploys Backhaul Solution For AMA TechTel's Pre-WiMAX Network In Texas
Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRNT), www.ceragon.com, a global provider of high-capacity broadband wireless systems, today announced the successful deployment of FibeAir 1500P, a comprehensive solution for the backhaul of AMA TechTel's pre-WiMAX network.
AMA TechTel, one of the largest locally owned telecommunications companies in West Texas, serves more than 24,000 customers including business, federal, and local government agencies. The company's network area covers more than 25,000 square miles.
AMA TechTel uses Ceragon's FibeAir systems featuring Fast Ethernet capabilities in the core of their wireless broadband network. FibeAir 1500P, a member of Ceragon's FibeAir family of products, provides the IP backhaul solution for AMA's Point-to-Multipoint network. The backhaul network is based on licensed frequencies of 11, 18 and 23 GHz band.
Ceragon's wireless systems were selected to upgrade and expand AMA TechTel's existing backbone to obtain the high-capacity necessary for their broadband-rich applications. The network was implemented using both ring and star topologies for full redundancy and maximum flexibility and features multiple frequency and modulation capabilities.
"Ceragon has become an integral piece of our IP backhaul solution for our network", said Douglas Campbell, Vice President of AMA TechTel. "Considering our aggressive plans for expansion, we require a robust solution that addresses the need for increased capacity and provides us with the scalability and performance critical to our business."
"We are pleased that once again the FibeAir system has proven itself an ideal backhaul solution for Point to Multipoint access networks. With its state-of-the-art Fast Ethernet payload delivery, FibeAir 1500P is an essential building block in wireless broadband networks," said Ira Palti, President and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd. "With field proven products, Ceragon is well-positioned to support the rapidly growing broadband wireless market as increasing numbers of operators install WiMAX-type networks around the world."
