Optical CD technologies provide fast time-to-deliver-data rates, are highly configurable and scalable, and offer hot swappable and random access capabilities. Datalink offers CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW hardware configurations ranging from single disc CD drives to 500-slot jukeboxes. We offer a variety of cost-effective, fast, flexible and reliable near-line CD solutions for your specific needs.

CD-ROM drives (Compact Disc-Read Only Memory)

For those who require read-only, large storage capacity and high-speed access, CD-ROM is well-suited for software applications, graphics, sound and video.

CD-R drive (Compact Disc-Recordable)

CD-R drive technology is perfect for archiving large amounts of information and providing for optimum data security. Up to 650 MB of data can be stored on each disc, and each disc can be written to only once.

CD-RW (Compact Disc-Read & Write)

For those who need to conduct unlimited read-write operations, Datalink offers CD-RW drives, which are capable of both reading and writing data at rates as fast as 614 KB/sec.

CD Jukebox

CD Jukebox solutions are ideal for archiving and organizing information in environments where storage capacity is important but data doesn't have to be constantly accessed. Jukeboxes can provide for enterprise access, and when configured with drives and hot swappable disc packs, they offer tremendous flexibility. Our jukebox solutions have time to deliver data rates as low as 4 seconds, can hold between 60 and 1478 CDs for nearly one terabyte of data, and support of 1 to 32 drives.

CD Towers

CD Towers provide speedy access to frequently accessed discs by housing multiple CD drives, with each CD assigned to a particular drive. Faster than jukeboxes, they are perfect for small or medium-sized departments that need quick access to a limited number of CDs. The result is increased efficiency, security and multimedia capability. Datalink offers entry-level desktop CD storage to mass CD storage solutions with simultaneous drive access and read and/or write capabilities. Networked together, CD jukeboxes and towers provide inexpensive enterprise access to CD-based information.

DVD (Digital Versatile Disc or Digital Video Disc)

DVD has a much higher capacity than CD (two sides and two layers vs. CD-ROMs single side and single layer), and is faster. Backward compatible with CD technology, DVD is quickly becoming the new standard for storage of video, audio, images, data files and multimedia programs. DVD-RAM drives currently support storage abilities of 2.6 GB single-sided and 5.2 GB double-sided. We also offer DVD jukebox configurations up to 1.2 TB.
