It is the cable choice for 10 Base T and 4 Mbps Token Ring systems. Category 3 cables represent the minimum transmission performance acceptable for horizontal cabling systems. Category 3 cables are FCC Part 68 compliant.
Other uses for this wire include indoor use on customers premises for the interconnection of telephone key systems, PBX and intercom systems.
