Biodata Information Technology, global leader in network and communication security, today announced the acquisition of Ensentro Technologies GmbH. Ensentro, a Munich-based high-tech specialist, develops and produces leading security alert systems for IT networks. This acquisition is in line with Biodata's strategy targeted at extending the company's worldwide leadership as one-stop shop provider in IT security.

Ensentro Technologies' main product is a security alert system called "1boxWatch". Only recently, the control system won an innovation award at the B2B conference in Bonn, Germany. In a company's IT network, "1boxWatch" monitors and checks all Internet systems and services - ranging from e-mail functionality, to Internet access, firewall tools and more. As an electronic guardian the alert system immediately reports mistakes or system failure and in this way protects companies from security breaches and economic damage. Some of Ensentro's customers and partners include Compaq, Sony, Bewag and Info AG.

Ensentro's security alert server provides LINUX-based system stability and easy-to-use installation and configuration design via HTML interface access. 1boxWatch gives customers full control in worldwide IT networks with many remote offices. Another innovative Ensentro product line is a box that constantly monitors and check the internal IT security policy as more than 70 percent of all network problems are caused by employees in the company. In Hannover at CeBIT 2001, the "Policy Inspector" will be presented to the public for the first time.

In 1997, Ensentro was founded by Albert and Robert Schöppl. This year, with a staff of 27 employees the company expects about 2.5 million Euro in turnover. Ensentro has sustained growth rates of 100 percent in the previous years and is confident to grow on a similar scale in 2001. Additionally, Biodata's worldwide customers and distribution channels open up new market and sales opportunities. Continually pursuing market leadership in technology and know-how, Biodata now has acquired four companies since the IPO in February 2000. Biodata will acquire 100 percent of Ensentro Technologies in exchange for Biodata ordinary shares worth 12.5 million Euro that will be issued from previously authorized capital.
