Baron is proud to expand our product offering to include Baro-Lean Polyethylene (PE) Single Conductor Sprinkler Wire. Our decision to offer PE was easy -- in most situations PE is a better wire than Single Conductor Underground Feeder (UF)
- While both cables perform equally well in warm weather, PE outperforms UF in colder temperatures.
- Because of different jacket materials and insulation thickness, PE wire is almost thirty percent (30%) lighter in weight than UF.
- Although UF's jacket insulation is thicker than PE: the PE cable still has better mechanical and insulating characteristics.
- PE wire is superior at moisture resistance, abrasion resistance, and cut-through resistance when compared with UF.
- PE is better at resisting deterioration from fertilizers, herbicides, and fungicides normally found in landscape.
PE is UL Listed as Sprinkler System Wire 600 Volt. Available in 2,500 and 500 put-ups in a wide range of color options.
