Backup and Recovery Software for Windows 2000

The version 8.5 of VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows NT and Windows 2000 offers complete support for Microsoft Exchange 2000. The software increases Microsoft Exchange accessibility by providing full, online backup and restore of all Exchange 5.0, Exchange 5.5, and Exchange 2000 Server components, including the ability to restore both individual messages and mailboxes along with associated embedded objects.

The new software is part of a suite of VERITAS Software solutions that offer support and high availability of Microsoft Exchange Servers.

Incorporating protection of Exchange Server databases into regularly scheduled network backup routines, the software minimizes data loss online without interrupting daily activity. This enhanced version of the Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server now has the flexibility to support the protection of multiple Message Databases (MDB) on a single Exchange 2000 Server as well as individual databases within a storage group.

With the Message Database Relocation Feature, the Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server can move any database to another server or storage group, creating increased scalability for file restoration. Additionally, mission-critical Exchange data, down to the individual storage group or database is completely protected with full, incremental, copy or differential backups.

Version 8.5 is immediately available through VERITAS Vplus, an authorized network of distributors and VARs, worldwide.
