Arbor Networks Partners With Ingram Micro In Asia Pacific To Help Enterprises Mitigate DDoS Threats To Their Businesses

Chelmsford, MA (Marketwire) - Arbor Networks, Inc., a leading provider of security and network management solutions for next-generation data centers and carrier networks, today announced a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro Inc., the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply-chain management services, to sell Arbor's Pravail™ Availability Protection System (Pravail APS) in Asia Pacific. Arbor's Pravail APS is an on-premise device that protects the data center edge against threats to availability, including application-layer, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

"Arbor Networks has been a global leader in the service provider market for years and now they are focused on delivering carrier-class protection to the enterprise data center," said Francis Choo, executive managing director Ingram Micro. "Arbor Pravail APS not only addresses a critical need for data center operators, it also comes with a comprehensive support and incentive program for our extensive network of Value Added Resellers across Asia Pacific."

Application-layer attacks are low bandwidth, difficult to detect and target both end-users' and network operators' own ancillary supporting services, such as HTTP Web services and domain name system (DNS). According to Arbor's sixth annual Worldwide Infrastructure Security Report, 49% of those who have deployed these devices within their cloud data centers experienced significant firewall and/or IPS failure as a direct result of DDoS attack. Arbor Pravail APS delivers out-of-the-box, proven DDoS attack identification and mitigation capabilities to help enterprises overcome these data center security challenges.

"Arbor Networks DDoS mitigation solutions are pervasively deployed in global service provider networks. To reach the enterprise market, we required the reach and resources and relationships of a partner like Ingram Micro," said Attley Ng, vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific operations for Arbor Networks. "Ingram Micro is the market leader in Asia and we are excited about leveraging their vast resources with a very compelling product for data center operators at a time when network security threats are evolving and presenting acute challenges."

Arbor Pravail APS Highlights:
