AImodem Network Module

The AImodem Network Module provides four (4) or eight (8) asynchronous RS232 DCE modem interfaces designed for the AISwitch Series 180, AISwitch Series 130, and AISwitch Series 110 products. The AImodem Network Modules can be used to originate and/or terminate analog telephone transmissions and are an excellent means for out of band communications. Each modem is V.90 compatible and capable of operating in dial-up or leased line mode.

The AIModem is designed to be used with the AI296I and AI232 network modules in providing modem connectivity to asynchronous applications providing users immediate access to configuration and management utilities through modem connectivity.

DCE Interface

The AImodem supports standard DCE rates up to 56 Kbps dial-up configuration mode and 33.6 Kbps 2-wire leased-line configuration.

LED Visibility
User friendly LED front panel visually indicates modem states. From the front panel display, the following modem states are detected:

• Transmit Data
  
• Receive Data
  
• Carrier Detect

Asynchronous data transmission
Each port on the AImodem supports full-duplex asynchronous data transmission and supports EIA/TIA signaling.

Error Correction
The AImodem provides V.42, MNP2-4, and 10 error correction.

Data Compression
The AImodem provides V.42 bis and MNP-5 data compression.
