Adaptive Broadband Corporation
This AB-Access point-to-multipoint solution for fixed wireless networks enables customers, such as CLECs and ISPs, to leapfrog existing infrastructure, so initial investment is significantly lower than that required for wired alternatives such as fiber or xDSL. This low-cost wireless infrastructure means that a complete network can be installed in days or weeks, instead of the typical months or years. And because the AB-Access architecture is highly scalable, the network can grow as the business grows or as bandwidth needs evolve.
AB-Access advanced subscriber management features such as Time Division Duplexing and Packet-on-Demand bandwidth allocation make the product particularly attractive to carriers. AB-Access enables immediate provisioning to allow end users (new subscribers) to be brought on-line quickly with a single, integrated unit. This feature minimizes costs, and enables fast and easy installation. Flexible tariffing allows service providers to bill subscribers not only for on-air time, but also by amount of bandwidth usage, time of day, or other criteria.
The AB-Access wireless broadband product bridges the last mile, replacing the local loop for business and residential subscribers. It offers data transmission at 25 Mbps, which provides the capability for real-time video conferencing, transmission of full streaming video, web surfing, and transmission of data files all simultaneously and over only one connection. Planned near-term product enhancements include 100 Mbps functionality and support for portability.
