Broadcom Introduces New Innovations To Accelerate Enterprise IT Modernization

New solutions, advanced services, and expanded ecosystem help customers achieve key business outcomes

Today at VMware Explore 2024 Barcelona, Broadcom announced new innovations, services, and partnerships to help customers succeed in their cloud transformations and harness the power of AI in the enterprise.

Enterprise leaders today are grappling with the necessity of data center and edge modernization alongside the business imperative to adopt generative AI (GenAI) - all while driving down operational costs and managing the multitude of security, data privacy, and regulatory risks of GenAI. To balance these complexities, unlock the potential of AI in the enterprise, and optimize resources organizations must harness the combined power of a private cloud platform, underpinned by AI-powered networking, and fueled by private data.

Enabling Private Cloud Everywhere with VMware Cloud Foundation
Adoption of artificial intelligence, national digital sovereignty, and maintaining cyber resilience are paramount to today’s digital-first organization. Today, Broadcom announced advancements across its VMware Cloud Foundation platform to accelerate enterprises’ priority business outcomes, including:

  • Expanded data services capabilities with the launch of VMware Tanzu Data Services. As a new VCF Advanced Services offering, Tanzu Data Services will allow customers to streamline deployment, management and consumption of critical data services and enable faster application delivery, better data security and governance, and operational efficiency. Read the Tanzu Data Services article.
  • End-to-end cyber resilience, security and recovery with the expansion of VMware Live Recovery support to include Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) as a target Isolated Recovery Environment (IRE) for VCF workloads, in addition to VMware Cloud on AWS and on-premises IRE, for both cyber and disaster recovery.
  • Greater support navigating their private cloud transformation journey with VMware Cloud Foundation through the ongoing expansion of Broadcom’s Private Cloud Modernization Program, which now includes a private cloud maturity and optimization tool and a new VMware Cloud Foundation Architect certification.
  • Support for digital sovereignty with VMware Cloud Service Providers (VCSPs). Broadcom today announced that 50 VCSPs offer sovereign cloud services based on VCF, including 30 across EMEA. Sovereign VCSP partners meet the requirements for local operations by a legal entity that owns, operates and manages the sovereign cloud offering with complete jurisdictional control, local data residency, and portability without lock-in (full reversibility).

Broadcom also announced the forthcoming general availability of Tanzu Platform 10, which was first introduced at VMware Explore Las Vegas. Tanzu Platform 10 represents the first release of Tanzu Platform for self-managed, air gapped environments, optimized for VMware Cloud Foundation-based private clouds, but also supports deployments in public cloud. Powering Robust AI Networking beyond the Data Center with VeloCloud
To help customers address the demands of rapidly growing AI workloads, Broadcom has unveiled major advancements across its VeloCloud product portfolio, including the launch of VeloRAIN, and the launch of a new partner program. New functionality and offerings will empower customers to:

  • Accelerate and optimize AI networking workloads with the introduction of new VeloRAIN architecture. In a new “State of the Edge” report released today by Broadcom, the driving factor for the adoption of edge solutions and AI workloads at the distributed edge is network connectivity issues across locations (57%), and the top outcome respondents hope to achieve is reduced network congestion (65%). With VeloRAIN, companies can improve how they build and manage AI-driven networks, with smarter application and traffic prioritization, to ultimately operate more efficiently and deliver superior user experiences.
