AutoTwister * Media Converter

Aura Networksster provides extended distance capabilities to existing 10 Mbps Ethernet networks. By providing media conversion and 10/100 rate adaptation in a single unit, extending existing copper-based networks up to 100 km over fiber.

Aura Networksster auto-negotiates speed and provides media conversion between copper and fiber in mixed media networks. It incorporates the company's new Link Loss Return (LLR) feature for notification of a fiber failure to a management station. LLR stops the sending of link pulses out the transmit port when link pulses are not being received. LLR is enabled on one end of the link, typically on the unmanaged device.

Additional features offered by Aura Networksster include shared network segment isolation, auto-negotiation of full and half duplex configurations, and a lifetime warranty.

Aura Networksster is available as a stand alone unit or as an intelligent module for Lancast's Intelligent Media Converter 7500 and supports a range of connections from 10/100BASE-TX RJ-45 through 100BASE-FX multimode ST. It provides seamless connectivity with all major switch and router manufacturers and can offer a cost-effective solution for fiber connectivity in copper switches to lower the cost per port without sacrificing functionality.
