The ASSA ABLOY Group Reaches New Levels Of Order Management Efficiency After Moving To Esker's Cloud-Based Automation Platform

ASSA ABLOY sees a 97% increase in average order processing time with Esker's order processing automation solution

Madison, WI (PRWEB) Esker, a worldwide leader in document process automation solutions and pioneer in cloud computing, today announced that the Swedish-based ASSA ABLOY Group, the world’s largest lock manufacturer, is moving to Esker’s cloud-based order processing solution after initially implementing Esker software on-premises in 2010. Adopting an on-demand model will allow ASSA ABLOY to gain the same workflow efficiencies it previously achieved with Esker, with the added benefits of eliminating on-premises licensing and maintenance, simplifying user training and on-boarding, and enhancing visibility via customizable dashboards.

One of the main drivers behind ASSA ABLOY’s decision to move to the cloud was the continued success of the business; the ongoing addition of business units was making it more and more difficult to manage on-premises servers. What’s more, ASSA ABLOY didn’t have the ability to customize fields within its orders for all the different business units. Brie Cifaldi, e-business coordinator at ASSA ABLOY, understood a change was necessary to avoid added complexity, saying: “As a company that’s continually growing, moving to a cloud solution was a no-brainer for us. And after attending Esker Americas User Conference (EAUC) and seeing firsthand how seamless the user experience could be, it really solidified our decision.”

Despite the fact that ASSA ABLOY’s cloud initiative is still in progress, the company has already seen a number of advantages, including:

30 percent reduction in errors, which equates to an estimated savings of $250,000 annually

97 percent faster average order processing time (from 60 hours to two hours)

74 percent reduction in average number of touch points (from 27 to seven)

Increased throughput and productivity by electronically capturing all of the header information, enabling staff to easily classify order types and make the necessary adjustments quickly

Improved customization through the use of Esker’s flexible forms technology, which allows order fields to be customized to all of the various business units

Enhanced visibility and analytic-based decision-making by using Esker’s dashboards to measure metrics like:

  • Number of lines validated (daily, WTD, MTD)
  • Aging orders (older than 2 days)
  • Number of orders/lines validated by user
  • Priority coded orders waiting for validation

With 12 business units already on the on-demand platform, ASSA ABLOY plans to incorporate cloud automation in its eight remaining locations in July. Cifaldi senses that the organization is in store for a lot more added efficiency, saying: “The solution’s ease of use is phenomenal. There’s really no comparison. We’re very excited to see how all of the facets in Esker’s solution can be incorporated into our environment and refine our order management process even more.”
