NextIO To Demonstrate Shared SSI Compliant Networking Solutions At Intel Developer Forum 2009

NextIO, a premier provider of next generation I/O solutions, recently announced that it has partnered with Neterion to demonstrate Intel Server System InfrastructureSM (SSI) compliant interoperability using shared 10Gb Ethernet networking at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2009, Sept. 22-24, at San Francisco's Moscone Center in Booth #413. NextIO will be featured in the SSI Forum booth to highlight the latest in proven server infrastructure standards.

The Intel SSI-compliant model is an open reference design with the goal of enabling a defacto standard for blade server infrastructure. NextIO's Express Connect platform enables Intel SSI-based blade servers to connect to any PCI Express I/O technology in the NextIO ICA2800 chassis or blade I/O module including Neterion shared 10Gb Ethernet Adapters

The demonstrations include:

  • Multiple SSI-based servers accessing a shared Neterion 10Gb PCI Express Ethernet adapter in the NextIO Chassis
  • Multiple SSI Servers connected to an integrated NextIO PCI Express I/O module using Neterion shared Ethernet technology to uplink the servers to an external network

Additionally, Chris Pettey, CTO of NextIO, will participate in a panel discussion lead by Jim Ryan, president of the SSI Forum. The panel "Interoperability Delivered," will also feature executives from Dawning and AMI and will describe the benefits of achieving interoperability.
