Atrato Provides High Performance SAN-Attached Storage For InQuinox's PureDisk Deduplication Appliance

Velocity1000 Selected for InQuinox's SD3 High-Performance Appliance with Symantec NetBackup PureDisk Deduplication Software

Louisville, CO /PRNewswire/ - Atrato, Inc. (www.Atrato.com), the leading provider of high-density on-demand data storage for high performance computing, digital media, entertainment, and Web 2.0 sectors, today announced that InQuinox has integrated Atrato's Velocity1000 (V1000) Series into its enterprise class PureDisk appliances. InQuinox's SD3 appliance is the first purpose-built product for Symantec NetBackup users who want to increase ease of use for the PureDisk deduplication software. In addition to alleviating pain points associated with installation and manageability, the InQuinox and Atrato solution will minimize the data storage footprint and save on energy and maintenance costs.

"We are pleased to be part of InQuinox's PureDisk appliance, and to team with them to address one of the most acute problems in storage today--data redundancy," said Steve Visconti, president and CEO of Atrato. "InQuinox's expertise and commitment in this area makes them the 'go to' source for optimized deduplication solutions. As performance issues continue to challenge backup applications, the high throughput and 'Storage on Demand' architecture of our joint solution will bring unmet advantages to the enterprise."

"Atrato's high performance array was the clear choice for our PureDisk appliance solutions," said Brad Hargett, InQuinox's CEO. "Its high bandwidth capabilities, energy efficient design, and self-healing features allow us to deliver a solution that surpasses all others in performance, management, and cost. In early benchmark tests, we outperformed the competition 2:1 and reclaimed two full racks of storage space."

SD3 Appliance with Atrato V1000

InQuinox's high-performance solution provides a "Plug 'n Play" platform for any size organization looking to implement PureDisk deduplication software in their data center or remote offices. The high-capacity modular system scales from 32 terabytes of storage to as much as 1 petabyte within 25 rack units, thereby minimizing customers' data storage footprint and saving on energy and maintenance costs.

SD3 appliances are highly energy efficient, using less than half the power of other deduplication appliances. Customers can save up to 75 percent in real estate costs and realize a 50 to 80 percent reduction in power and cooling expenses. SD3 also eliminates wasted expenses derived from over provisioning to further reduce IT operating costs.

InQuinox's convenient "Storage on Demand" remote upgrade capability makes it easy to scale SD3 to meet expanding deduplication needs quickly by simply licensing more capacity. SD3 appliances are self-healing, and are warranted to keep running a minimum of three years uninterrupted with zero disk maintenance.
